WHAT YOU WILL RECIEVE

This course takes place over 6 weeks, every consecutive Sunday from 11am – 1pm from 20th October 2024 to 24th November 2024.

Participants will learn how to plan, structure, pitch and write a TV pilot based on their own original idea. After the course, particpiants will have all the tools they need to complete an original television script. Each course-member is also given a one-to-one script tutorial with Molly Naylor, to receive bespoke feedback and guidance. This session can take place after completion of their script, or at any point in the process.

THINGS TO NOTE

There will be work to do outside of the sessions, so participants are advised to make sure they have 2-4 hours free each week to complete writing tasks.

Sessions will be fast-paced and interactive, participants will be encouraged to share ideas and script samples throughout the course.

This course is perfect for people who have an idea and want to bring it to fruition, or who want to learn the basics of writing for TV. It’s also suitable for people who have written scripts for the screen before but want a refresher. Ideally, you’ll have come prior creative writing experience.

ABOUT YOUR COURSE LEADER

Molly Naylor is a scriptwriter, poet, performer and graphic novelist. She is the co-creator and writer of Sky One comedy After Hours. Her plays have been toured nationally and broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Her first feature film is slated to be filmed later this year. She taught Scriptwriting at the University of East Anglia until 2022, when she left to continue teaching and mentoring under her own steam in order to offer a more affordable, accessible service.
