At the Future Founders Academy – Los Angeles, students ages 14–17 will dive into the world of entrepreneurship through hands-on activities, team challenges, and real-world examples.

Over the course of two full days , participants will learn how to
Identify a business opportunity,
Create a one-page business plan,
Build a basic financial model, explore marketing strategies, and
Pitch their ideas to peers and mentors.

Expect a fun, interactive environment with engaging sessions, group brainstorming, and guidance from experienced instructors. By the end, each student will walk away with a completed business plan, a simplified business model canvas, a 3–5 minute pitch, and the confidence to take their ideas to the next level. Lunch and snacks are provided. No prior business experience needed — just bring your curiosity and creativity!

Meet Your Lead Instructor: Dr. Candice Carpenter

Dr. Candice Carpenter is a physician, entrepreneur, and award-winning educator who has helped countless entrepreneurs launch their dreams. Most recently, she was one of three judges for the American Heart Association Empowered to Serve National Business Accelerator Program that awarded top entrepreneurs competed with over $75,000 in entrepreneurial funding. She teaches Entrepreneurial Management, Nonprofit Management, and Drug Discovery and Development at California State University Channel Islands, where she inspires students to think boldly and build businesses that make a difference.

Dr. Carpenter holds degrees from Harvard, Yale, Oxford, and has an MBA with an emphasis on leadership, strategy, and entrepreneurship. She’s a proud graduate of the Oxford Women’s Entrepreneurship Program, Oxford Step Ignite Entrepreneurship Program, and the UCLA Biodesign and Healthcare Technology Fellowship. She serves as the Chair of the MedTech Color Educational Programming Committee

As the founder of the Boston Congress of Public Health (healthcare nonprofit) and Medflixx ( a health tech startup), she brings real-world experience to every lesson. Known for her energy, creativity, and no-fluff teaching style, Dr. Carpenter is passionate about giving young innovators the tools and confidence to build something great — and have fun doing it.
